Pollman solo bass w/ extension Houston, TX

I am selling my Pöllman solo double bass that I owned through my Master's degree at Boston University. This bass is perfect for a student or professional. It was being used for jazz and folk music when I bought it, but now has several years of orchestral playing, and has proven itself wonderfully! It is a small 3/4 bass but it has a very big sound (it took me to runner-up on the recent Houston Symphony Sub list audition). It has a C extension with adjustable brass gates by the Heinl violin shop in Toronta, Canada. I played this bass as principal of the Atlantic Symphony in Boston, MA and have performed solo recitals on it. The small size and sloped shoulders make it very adaptable to all kinds of playing, and the fingerboard goes to Eb above the treble staff. I purchased this bass two years ago and have since had a new bridge and soundpost made by Volker Nahrmann of Boston. It is in good shape, with good repairs and no major damage has ever occurred. PM me for more information or pictures. I would love to sell the bass locally to someone in the Houston metro area, but nothing is out of the question!

Anyway, for anyone interested, I'm happy to circumvent talkbass' policy of two attachments per post by adding some more pictures. Even of the front. The asking price, again, is $15,000 US.
Serious replies only, please.

Did you get this bass off of Brian Kobayakawa? if so I know the bass, it is great. Wish I was in the market for a new bass, I would be all over this.

Yeah, that was my bass. I wish I could afford to reacquire it and keep my current instrument (which, Mr. Davis, you need to come and play. I'll give you some C strings when you do).

This is a great bass. One of the best Pollmanns I've heard, head and shoulders better than many.

OKBruce,
I'm not opposed to the idea if the bass is right...where are you located that I might be able to try your bass?

This bass would be gone, if I was in the market. I love the busetto (spelled right?) curves..

In the last three weeks this bass was in the semi-final round of the Kansas City Symphony, semi-finalist status with the New World Symphony, and played with the Houston Symphony. A hot-ticket item!!
