I have one of the earliest Realist pickups made, serial #228. This one has the larger jack with a red button and is in good shape.
On my bass, it had good output, but sounded pretty nasal so I bought a new one. The guy I bought it from said it sounded good on his bass and I think I paid $90.
I suspect that due to the two disks between the copper foil, it didn't fit properly. If I moved the bridge foot slightly it would sound OK for a bit, but on the gig it just didn't sound good at all.
$50 shipped.
