Road Trunk for Bass

Selling my "Bass Vault" super-duty road trunk. Fits up to 7/8 bass, w/C extension, in gig bag. Originally cost $1700. Never roaded, I just moved it around a couple of times, so it is in virtually new condition. Lined with 2" foam and has straps to position the bass. Rolls flat on the hinge side, swivel wheels so it can go through doors, into elevators, up ramps, and be handled by one person. Though airline regulations have eased a bit, this may be too heavy to fly as luggage and would have to be sent air cargo. Ideally suited for the touring bassist on the road. Looking to get $475 or BEST OFFER - I've had it for sale a long time and it is a great trunk which needs a home with a bassist who can use it. For this price you can even use it as your bass locker backstage or at school. Email me at bassbaterie@yahoo.com for additional photos. I live in Houston or can ship this via truck freight.

Who built the case? How thick is the plywood on the sides?

It was built by Chili con Cases, which specialized in really custom stuff. It was drawn by their head engineer who is also a professional bassist. 3/8" plywood walls with textured fiberglass laminate. The 'nose cone' thing over the bridge area is 1/2" birch overlaid with fiberglass, designed to be crush-proof and forklift-puncture-resistant.
