Russian Flatback Hybrid 7/8 with free shipping case

This bass is unique. Authentic flatback Russian bass made by a state factory in the 50's. Beautiful carved spruce top and plywood back and sides. Sounds as rich as many fully-carved basses and has a huge sound. Somewhere between 7/8 and full size. The top bout is medium-sized and the bottom bout is very large. The sides are very deep. The string length is about 42". The bridge has good metal adjusters. The seams are recently glued. The neck block is new and makes the bass very playable; easy to get in and out of thumb position.
This bass is big and heavy. You may want to own a car if you live in the city, although I have managed without one for a couple years. I paid $6000 for it 3 years ago and have had at major work done including a new neck block. It has been appraised at $7000.
I will give you a beaten-up soft case and custom home-made shipping case free of charge if you are interested in them. Very good overall value.
If you would like to play it or if you have any questions, please call Rob at 415 845 9687. Thanks.
