Hi all.
I'm selling my Stevenson case. This case is pretty old, has traveled around the world and was owned by 2 notorious jazz bassists here in NYC (Larry Grenadier and Johannes Weidenmueller) before me. It's decorated with airline, fragile, and jazz festival stickers... it has a real pedigree!
The case needs some TLC, the fiberglass is a bit damaged in a few places, and a wheel is missing. I've replaced the inner foam but will need some re-gluing and the cords that close the case could use a replacement. Having said that, this is a GREAT case. I'd say I've taken it on the road 20 something times (hard to remember exactly) and I've only had ONE breaking (I actually saw the airline guy drop the case from a 4ft height, but that's a story for another thread itself). The case has a series of straps inside that hold the bass really well, I'd describe it as a "perfect shell".
My guess is that if you're a bit handy and dedicate a couple of hours you can repair the wheel and bungee cords. I know that they repair fiberglass at David Gage, so my guess is that at most this can cost $150 or 200.
This case, in its cheaper version costs over $3000, so here's an opportunity to get one for a fraction of the price.
I'm in Brooklyn NY and I will only sell this locally. No shipping. I'll accept cash, money orders or a cashier's check. My price is firm and non negotiable. You're welcome to stop by and take a look at it.
