Hello fellow bassists,
I am here to announce the selling of my 1930's German carved bass. From the Mittenwald region, maker unknown. Roundback with beautifully figured maple neck.
This bass has served me well as a jazz bass. It has been on numerous recordings, and has always been praised for it's full, warm and clear sound. Great sustain too. Works wonders in the studio...
I have clips of this bass, solo, and within ensembles. You can also find stuff on line, ( check out Andrew Hill's last recording for Blue Note, "Time Lines" )...for video look on YouTube for stuff with Andrew Hill..specifically the Trinity Church concert, Andrew's last live performance. That was a special day for me. Also go to my website,
www.johnhebert.com for more sounds and info.

Anyway, I can send measurements for anyone interested. The string length is at 42" now with the bridge moved slightly forward...sounds good like this to me. The bass is considered a 7/8 but not that big really...
I would encourage anyone who is serious to come and play on it. I am in the the New York City area.
I am asking $8700 OBO...
This bass has been regularly maintained by the folks at David Gage.
