Sweet German Flatback for sale - The Dark Chocolate

Hey All-

I need to downgrade my instrument so I'm selling my sweet upright.

I am selling an absolutely gorgeous upright bass.
This bass sounds so rich, deep, and dark.
Every luthier who has seen it has gushed about it.
In great shape for an old instrument. Doesn't need any specific work.
Perfectly set up with an adjustable bridge
A dream instrument and a great upgrade
-More institutional description
This was double bass made in Cologne, Germany around early to mid 1900's. It's in great condition and has a nice darker sound. It has the typical outside linings (along the outer ribs) and interesting shaped tuners (eye shaped). It has a flat back style construction which slopes inward towards the butt of the neck. It also has a new flamed neck graft. (retaining the original scroll.) The string length is only 41 3/16", the back 42 1/4", the upper bouts 21" and lower bouts 25 1/2". The slightly wider shoulders help give it a bigger, warm projecting sound.

Shots of scroll/gears? Rib depths @ neck-join, C-bouts and end-pin please.

That's the same bass that I remembered seeing on the String Emporium website.

Didn't work out for you?

Hey Guys,

Yep, bought the bass from String Emporium. Love the bass actually, but I'm downgrading ;-(

It doesn't have the original top (someone changed it about 30 years ago)

Let me see about posting other pics
