Also, you mentioned instructions on tying them...I've never used Velvets before: do they need to be put on the bass in a way that differs from other strings?

Hi Paul.

The string is still available. Tying them is easy. They differ from most other strings because they are tied on both ends. I've never had an issue with the installation process.
