| Wilfer "Edelweiss" aka M. 10 2003 with C extension fs Here is my E. Wilfer bass, which I've owned for about five years. The original owner had it selected for him, from stock at Lemur, by a CA luthier, and I have laudatory quotations about the bass from him. Medium flamed maple including the neck, and nice even spruce top, in a medium amber color.
There's a fancy bridge, a Pecanic tailpiece and string, and many trips to the luthier for adjustments but no repairs I can think of. Very well-constructed instrument that "fits" pretty perfectly everywhere.
The ebony fingerboard is very broad thick and shiny, well-dressed might be the term, and kitted with the generous dot scheme that was lifted from a NS stick bass -- so one needn't learn where the half-steps are, just cover the dots. Would it were so easy! But there are LOTS of DOTS. This might be an advantage to some.
There's an ebony and brass C foot.
A carbon fiber end pin.
Drilled for one of those angled endpins, too, if you would like that it's part of the deal.
Lemur shows this at $9,900 but "out of stock". I believe their price dates from before recent gyrations in currency exchange rates, up and down.
The bits attached to it, and luthier work, added a couple of thousand.
For sale, at $12k, open to discussions.
It's in New Orleans. I have an ability to deliver within about 500 miles if we are lucky.
Photos may follow. Just look at the Edelwesiss on Lemur, that's what it looks like.
Regards to all and may your rosin be right.
