Bass POD xt Live - options?

I have a bass POD xt live, and currently it is being used as my direct box to the board, and we are using in ear monitors. However we are starting to bring amps back into the mix, so I am leaning toward using the direct out of my amp, but I like the effects on my line 6 POD. Can I bypass the amp and cabinet sounds and use the POD in my effects loop on the amp (I can send the post EQ setting to the board).

thanks!

I could never get the sound I liked out of my pod through an amp. But I have since started to use a pre-amp/power amp through a fEarful cab and it sounds great. The cab doesn't color the preamp sound at all. You may look at something like that to run your pod through. It's like playing though a studio monitor that can get hella loud. Check out the fEarful threads, you may find it would work for you. My signal chain now is Sansamp RBI-Carvin DCM 600 to a fEarful 12/6 cab. Any sound you would be able to get at the board, you could get through your fEarful.

Really simple (I think!)

I've been using a Pod XtLive with the BassPack for about 4 years now, and if the bass pod operates like the Podxtl, all you need to do is not use an amp model. Simple choose NO AMP, or press the AMP pedal to turn off the amp simulation. It's really that simple. You would also want to set the output switch to AMP (I think) rather than LINE.

Exactly, I have built my patches from scratch and did not assign an amp model or cabinet model. I use it with my amp almost always. Sounds awesome.
