HD series and bass amps

This is purely speculation at this point, but let's just assume that the HD will have a bass model pack at some point. Line 6 cut down on the number of guitar models - down to 16 total. Let's assume that the possible bass model pack will have only 8 bass amps. Which would you choose?

1) SVT / 8x10
2) B15
3) GK / Hartke
4) Aguilar DB750 / Line 6 4x10
5) Eden WT / Eden 4x10
6) Acoustic 360 / Sunn Coliseum cab
7) Tube preamp
8) Vintage mixer channel to blend DI with amp
9) Sub Dub if you let me pick one more

I like your suggestions.

I use variations of the SVT/810 and the EdenWT/410 for my tones. It would be really nice if Line 6 could simulate a polyphonic octave generator effect that tracks as well as the Micro POG does on bass.

It would be nice if the Line 6 guys could provide any detail on whether a bass HD is going to happen

They won't comment on future releases. In the past, I believe it's been about six to nine months from release of the guitar product until the release of the bass product. I would be surprised if they didn't release a bass add-on pack. I doubt there will be a bass specific HD.

I was kinda expecting a bass add-on pack to be announced at NAMM, but that didn't happen. I'm trying to remain optimistic, but.....

I am considering going back to multi pedal pedalboard

tc polytune + bass big muff + vt bass + ebs microbass + A/B switcher for the pres + some tremolo (probably EBS in mono mode) and perhaps a delay/looper.

line6 would have its place also, a G30

Lately I just use SVT grindy sounds with a touch of fuzz in some parts, and I haven't found a clean sound I like more than EBS stuff, now using Eden emulation in my x3 live which comes close, the tremolo is just for fun in a couple of songs...

I just want something from line6 that can be powered from a multi psu along with a G30 and with some good sounds, don't really need a bazillion options...

Tired of waiting...

Great thread, good suggestions. I would love to see other guys jump in with their favorite bass amps.

Mine?

Vintage: SVT and B15....
Modern: Aguilar

end of list and I have played them all. I did love my Demeter Preamp too though.

How about:

Acoustic 360
Fender Bassman
Mesa/Boogie Walkabout
Mesa/Boogie 400

The HD floor units are cool and all but I'd really like updated models in a lightweight head. I don't know many bassists who want to lug more stuff around. I'll sign up for a new Studio 110 type combo with a removable 500 watt head right now.

OK... not an amp, but I would love to see a modeler of the Ibanez CS9 stereo chorus... I would be sold.

As for amps,
SWR220 studio thru a 2X10
...

or

Peavey Minx combo, mic'ed

or

Markbass Little Mark II

My two favorite X3 Live Models are the old standards...

SVT and 810

Eden World Tour and 410XLT

I use the X3 Live as a preamp into a QSC PLX 1804 and two Schroeder 1210Ls. I am amazed how good the models sound live and in my recordings using the S/PIDF output. I can't wait to hear what they would sound like from a HD500
