Hey guys, Line 6 Bass POD XT Live user!

Hey there! I am writing all the way from Serbia, and today i became a proud member of the last new POD XT Live in the country What i don't get is the following: there are two outputs, right, the model and the DI output. How does the whole live sound treat the sound created/used on the POD, when using the model output, but without using an amplifier on stage? Do I need another DI box which will go from the model output into DI box's input, or does it go straight from the model output into the mixer without significant sound change?

Thanks guys, i love this forum!

If the mixer channels have "LINE LEVEL" inputs, you can go in them.
If not, you can get a DI box that will "convert" your 1/4" to XLR and give you isolation. The one I carry converts RCA, 1/4", XLR and has 2 channels in case a soundman insists on dry sound or I want to convert a stereo source...
like a new HD POD).

You could use this and send your MODEL signal on one channel and DI signal on the other.

PS:
Not having an amp on stage is rough.
If you plan on running your bass through vocal monitors, prepare to be disappointed.
For a "no amp" look, I use a kickback amp similar to a Hartke that gives mids & highs mainly while the PA subs provide bass. Works well IMO.

I used the original Bass Pod Bean about 10 years with no on stage amps. I used the modeled 1/4" out to a DI Box. We were a 5 piece band (electric & classical guitars, 2 k/boards & Cajun style Accordion, Bass, miked drum kit & 5 vocalists). We each had our own JBL Eon 15 powered monitors. Each monitor had it's own sub group feed with a front of house mix. None of the subgroups sent a signal to the main mix. That way we could adjust our own monitor volume as required without affecting the FOH volume levels. We mainly played small to medium sized rooms playing pop, classic rock & country with no problems. We were able to control our onstage volume quite nicely and also were able to run some decent job tape for critiquing later. Yes it took some discipline to get used to but the benefits out-weighed the minuses (less lifting & more room in the trailer) and a much cleaner balanced mix out front.

PS: I am currently buying an X3 Live board now to use in my side project. Guitarist is using an XT Live with Line6 Guitar, drums are Yamaha electrics. For now I will be using my Yorkville XS400 with 2-10's as a monitor until I get another powered JBL 15 Eon, then no amps on stage for this project.
