Just got the M5 and...

Just got the M5 and I was wondering if I need to or should update the software? It is now running the factory 1.00.00 version.

Thanks Much

Definitely man! The newer firmware has particle reverb, the bass octaver (which TOTALLY lives up to the hype) and a few other cool additions.

It actual has those already, but I am curious if there would be any kind of significant difference in things. I will def do it eventually; I just don't have a cable yet ($40 )

Just an FYI, I had issues with my M5 using it with a OneSpot. I got a buzzing sound when the distortion, modulation or filter banks were selected. Seems to be something from the display bleeding into the signal path. You wouldn't notice the buzzing when playing at lower volumes, but at high volumes the buzz was there and rather loud. So I gave up on using a single OneSpot and used a OneSpot and the supplied power supply. That fixed things but I had a short power cord and a long cord. Picked up another OneSpot and electrical taped the two cables together and left some slack at the end. That took care of things and worked better than the supplied power supply because the right angle on the OneSpot made things fit much better on my pedal train mini. The newer model wouldn't have an issue since it doesn't have the higher plate on the back (or the front if you're in the audience).

Good tips. Interesting about the buzzing sound. I will have to check it out.
