Line-level output from X3 Live XLR?

I thought I had just simplified my life (and my rack) greatly by replacing my PLX1804 with an XTi4000, which has the built-in crossover, limiters etc. But it only has XLR inputs. And it appears my Pod X3L's XLRs only output at mic level. Can anyone recommend a workaround for this, short of adding an expensive piece of equipment? (I'd rather not add any equipment at all; that was the point of switching to the XTi...)

WOW, XTi4000.....

That's a lot of headroom my friend!!

I have the XTi1000 (bridged @1000 watts) going into a Hartke hydrive 4-10 (rated @ 1000 watts).

What I did was have a cable made: 1/4 inch to XLR to run from my rack-mount Bass Pod XT Pro to the Crown. Seems to work a-okay and is loud enough to shake my intestines, I could not even imagine how that much output would hurt.

The XT Pro doesn't have line-level on the XLR(s)? I only ask because it seems the X3 Pro does. But not the Live...

If it's that simple, I could live with that. In a perfect world, there would be a line/mic switch (either hardware or software) on the Live, and I'd be done. If there's no option for that, I can't understand why.

Still waiting for someone from Line6 to chime in, either here or on Line6's own forum...

Thanks,

-jb

P.S.: Not nearly as much headroom as yours; I'm biamping into two 8-ohm cabs, so that's about, what... 600W per?

I am about to use the same Line6 X3 live with the 4000. I was told to do as someone mentioned above and get the 1/4" to xlr cables made. I like to run my Line 6 XLRs to the front of house so using the XLR on the Line 6 wouldnt have been my best option

I've been thinking about doing the same thing. I got a good deal on one of the new lightweight Crown XLS 1500s... which is really light! The XLS 1500 seems like it'd work pretty well since it has 1/4" inputs... no need for adapters.

It actually baffles me why anybody would do a mic-level xlr out from a unit like this, since most reasonably decent mixing consoles can be padded at the input anyway. ...and most amps are looking for line-level input.

Anyway, the workaround for me is to just go TRS out from the Line 6 1/4" line output to xlr on my Crown XLS202. Short sleeve to ground. Works fine.

I'm GAS-ing something serious for those XTi's--would love to triamp my fEarful 12/6/1.
