Line6 POD x3 live not sounding right

I have searched and searched and haven't stumbled onto anything.

When I play directly through amp my tone sounds fine however plug the x3 live and it sounds hollow like its in another box.

Is there a trick that I'm missing?

Try plugging into the effects return of your head.

Also, I believe there is a "What am I connected to" setting in the menu somewhere.

What kind of amp are you plugging using?

I was just plugging it like this Bass>X3 live>amp not using the effects return. I will give that a shot.

The "what am I connected to" setting are you talking about the switch that says amp or line? I know that's not in the menu but I haven't seen one there.

It's just Output now. I think it was "What am I connected to" in the XT.
