M13 for bass???

I am wondering if anyone has used the M13 with their bass rig. With the number of different sounds packed in the unit I figured it may be for more than just the guitar crowd.

Were you able to find usable sounds?

How does it rate with bass?

Is it diffacult to dial in?

Curiosity killed the cat... good thing I am not feline!

I use it. Works fine for me. Some models are better than others, but that's the same with most multi-effects that I have used.

I like a lot of the synth programs. The delays are very nice. There are certainly more GOOD things than BAD things with this box. Add a couple of expression pedals and it gets even better.

Hoping for some good things to come with the next update. Maybe an octave model (although some others can be used in a pinch).

It kicks butt for Bass. Justin Meldal-Johnsen and Ronda Smith are using one. As well as Alex Al and Chris Roy. Lots of good stuff in there for us.

I love the Boost Comp to push my SVT sound on my Studio 110.

Also, working on getting a Bass Octaver in the next update because of this website.

Any news on the fabled M9? The M13 is a little bit large for me to travel with, but a smaller form factor would be killer!

Definitely some legit bass pros using M13 for their gigs already thanks to Rich and Line 6 AR, which is great to see. If any of you TalkBass folks are using the M13, please continue to share your stories because the product works great with bass.

Speaking of pros...some of my favorite bass artists are using loopers to provide ambience and backing rhythm tracks for soloing...M13 really will shine in those scenarios because of the different FX flavors you can add to the "solo" and "rhythm" parts of your loop. Having all of that flexibility in a straightforward unit without additional cables is huge convenience factor too.

Check one out at music store and let me know what you guys think!

I have one. I bought it about a year ago and to be quite honest life has gotten in the way of my playing in the past year so I truly have not had the chance to explore it for what it is truly worth.

At this point in time I have probably spent about 10 hours with it to date and I find the majority of the effects work well with bass guitar. I have yet to dive into many of it's capabilities, including the looper.

I only have one request, Line 6 guys:

Please make the Bronze Master patch available for the M13. I used to have the PODxt PRO and sold it off to fund my purchase of the M13 and I really miss it. Besides, I cant be the only one asking for this, that patch works great on bass guitar.

The M13 is awesome for those in cover bands, like myself. You can cop pretty much any tone you need with room to spare.

I've been looking at the rumor threads for the M9. Hope it has the built-in tuner like the M13. For me it would be a one-pedal setup. Oh well, should find out soon...

M13 replaced most of my pedals which was around 60 pedals across 3 boards and I actually have more options I just wish the tuner could handle my low A, a step below B would get rid of that temptation to stick a strobostomp next to it.

Live I only use the M13 with 2 EB vol pedals, 1 as a volume and 1 as an expression pedal and I plan on adding a few other expr options. All other pedals are for studio or grab and go tours because while the sie of the m13 is not a problem the power supply is prohibative when you tour other countries.

I'll also be buying an M9 when it comes out as this will make for a much better international solution in terms of size, jsut got to sort out that pesky power supply.

Hey im in Australia and we run on 240 volts... Will the M13 work when I have to do work overseas in regions running on 120 volts?
Id love to get the M13, but atm all the pedals I have I can take anywhere in the world and they dont need a power converter. Im a little confused about the specs listed on line 6's website.

The power supply runs at the voltage of the country it was bought in, so an american one will be 120v, my UK one is 230v and I can't use it anywhere else in the world that isn't that voltage.

I'm looking for a power supply that will work all over the world for when I go touring.

I just heard a rumor about the M9 coming out/shipping VERY soon, along with pricing info.

Don't know if this is old news or not, but it has me very interested.
