M9 fuzz/drive/disto patches?

I've seen a lot of posts where people have said they're not happy with the m9 distortion models, and a few where people have got decent results by eq'ing the distorted signals, but I haven't come across any patches. Anyone have any they could share?

I have used a Bass Blowtorch, a cloned mammoth and a cloned SVT, some of the settings are OK, but my guitarists diago PSU has just blown up so he's borrowing mine for our gig on Sunday, so I need to set up a couple of generic patches on the m9 to tide me over (and hopefully replace the other pedals ultimately so i just have the m9 and associated control pedals on my board).

TIA

Not sure if your planning on using a guitar or bass. Anyway, here is a link to a document that lists all the models available on the M9. Remember, to get all the models, you need to have the updated firmware installed.

Cheers!

I'm using a bass (see sig)

thanks anyway, but I have the docs and the upgrade, I was hoping for examples of how fuzz models were combined with eq - I don't think I'll have chance to try any out until we sound check. It would be nice to have some examples to try out that have worked for other people which I could tweak a bit.

I don't have any particular patches to share, but I have had good results (to my ears at least) combining EQ and various distortions/ODs. One thing to keep in mind is that the M9/M13 isn't just 3 or 4 pedals chained together, they're also 3 or 4 effects blocks that can be combined for a single monster effect. Chain together 3 choruses that each sound weak, but combined sound great. Tons of possibilities.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look into it

Here's something I was experimenting with tonight:

Slot 1: Smart Harmony, +8.0, mix:100%

Slot 2: leave it open for now

Slot 3: Smart Harmony, -8.0, mix:100%

Now, in slot #2 experiment with distortions, EQ, Comp, modulation, etc. What I'm doing is raising the notes up an octave to make them more "compatible" with the guitar effects and then dropping them an octave to return the original fundamental down to electric bass range. To me, it sounds fatter and fuller. The downside is that you have to play monophonic or Smart Harmony in Slot 1 will glitch. But you can sometimes get away with fifths. Another possible snag is that if your bass' onboard electronics are noisy that noise will be amplified by this process, so you may want to turn down the treble, you'll get more treble when you go through the first octave up anyways.

to update the thread, I traded up to an M13, and use a boss LS-2 for a parallel signal path as has been documented on TB. I'm now sorted and even get a bit of positive feedback on my disto/fuzz tones
