Don't everyone jump at once.

Just ordered one, I'll report back when it arrives.

Well it arrived yesterday so this is just a preliminary review but it seems like a pretty cool piece of equipment. It came with the unit and 2 MIDI cables. The cables are made by Planet Waves, but they're pretty thin so I'd refrain from throwing them in a bag with a whole bunch of other equipment.

All testing was done with an iPod Touch 3G (32GB), Roland Juno Di and Line 6 M9.

Apps:

MIDI Memo Recorder: Free

Line 6's App which allows you to record and play back MIDI tracks, backup your Line 6 gear and a bunch of other stuff listed on their website. I used it to back up my M9 which took about 30 seconds and 60kb of space. Pretty straight forward, though a look through the Advanced Guide is recommended.

50 in 1 Piano: $1.99

Works fine, plenty of nice usable sounds to play with. Some features of my Juno Di worked with it such as the Octave Up and Down buttons, Pitch Stick and Sustain Pedal.

NLog MIDI Synth: $8.99

Works fine, lots and lots of tweakable sounds and features which can be stored. Same hardware functionality as with the 50 in 1 app. I didn't get deep enough into it to see if I could use any of the Di's rotary knobs to adjust any of the parameters. I would hope so since the in app knobs are far too small to be useful in a live situation. The app's XY pad will have to suffice otherwise.

*Important Notes*

1. The MIDI Mobilizer is powered by the iPod/iPhone/iPad itself, and can't be charged while in use. I'm not sure what the battery usage on this thing is, but I'd recommend charging it beforehand if you plan on using it live.

2. Sound comes from the iPod/iPhone/iPad which means connecting to the headphone jack is your only option.

All in all a cool piece of kit with a bunch of features that go beyond what's in this short review.

*Update*

Got a little more into the NLog MIDI Synth and my Juno. Turns out you can use the rotary knobs to alter parameters in real time, it just takes a little setup. Looks like 6 total, too bad my Juno only has 5 knobs.

First, this forum is not a gimmick. Just been busy. Also, Vic was asking you guys if you tried it. He didn't ask me a question.

True you are correct. Please forgive my tone in regards to you . I was looking for a Lowdown head and ran into many issues in getting it. Let's just say a trade happened lost my Eden head to the store that was ordering a HD750 that never showed up do to them being dc'd but nobody new of happening. Was told by Line6 that my pedalboard from my line6 flextone 2 amp would work to find out it doesn't. To finally getting the amp to find out it was defective. Just a mess that left a bad taste in my mouth after buying 7 high ticket items from Line6 over the years.

Yikes. Where did it land? Did you get it fixed? Your pedalboard from the Flextone, was it the old shortboard? It should have worked, that is what I use with my 750. Sorry about them not knowing it was dc'd, I just found out myself. Woops. Email me at richrenken@line6.com if you didn't get it fixed, I can help you.

P.S. no need for forgiveness, I think you are being truthful and it is a terrible story.

No luckily they were able to find another amp. I suspect it is a refurb. But it works! The board is big. It just says floorboard or pedalboard on it. I will post a picture.

Hey Rich, now that you're here I'm curious if there will be any plans to expand the MIDI Memo Recorder app to receive files for playback via email?

Perhaps the ability to loop the file?
