| More Studio 110 props I've used the Lowdown Studio 110 for a few years now as a practice amp and for some occasional recording. A couple of weeks ago I got an offer for my normal big gigging amp setup I couldn't refuse, and since I didn't have a live gig for a few weeks and the setup was rather bulky, I sold them. I've been thinking of getting one of the tiny new uber amps to make life easier on the ol back anyway.
Unfortunately, life got very hectic and I never got time to get a new rig before last Friday nights gig. After a brief panic I decided to take my 110 and have at it. Man, was I surprised. With the DI to the PA and the amp on a chair I had no problems at all. In fact I had to turn the amp down a couple times and got compliments on the sound. Btw, I used the svt and modern presets and I did push it hard quite a bit. The volume was at 3/4 full for 4 hours but it came through without a hitch. Once again, great little amp.
My dilemma now is that I have some bigger shows coming up. Could Line6 please put out a vertically stacked 300+ watt 2x10 combo with a built in tuner and presets thats less that 50lbs soon? A 2x12 or a 15+6 would work too. If the head was removable even better. If you doubt it would sell check out the TC Electronic RH450. Its worked out pretty well for them. Its also probably what I'll end up with if I can find one to try out. I'd rather stick with you if I could though. |
