Unhappy My Bass Pod XT Live died...

Yay! Right before Christmas too

Last weekend I set up my gear and plug in my Pod. I flick the power and the screen glows orange and stays like that for about 30 seconds, and then flickers. That's it. I've never dropped it or spilled anything on it at all.

I took it into my local service tech (an authorized repair centre) and he tells me that the circuit board is dead. So now I'm waiting to find out how much the "guts" are going to cost me. /sigh

A TB'er sold one for a bargain last week.....and that's why I bought it(as a backup). Mine has been drowned once(water dripped in it during an outdoor show through a tent leak)...dried it out and it worked fine since.

Good luck and subscribed.

I'm hoping that a new circuit board (or whatever it needs) is gonna under $200. And to top it all off, my Blackberry Curve just suffered the Blackberry version of the "blue screen of death." Bye bye blackberry, hello new LG Optimus. sigh...

How does the song go, "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all."

That's the curse of most compact digital systems, only way to fix it is to replace the whole board, not specific components. It might be cheaper for you to take the hit and invest the money spent on repair into some other similar gear, used... Or maybe someone sells a used Line 6 Bass Pod XT...

I just heard back from my repair tech...and not good news Im looking at about $250 for the board itself plus an hours worth of labour to put it all together. Almost the price of a new one.

I'll probably end up putting it up on the Bay or my local classifieds for parts....
