| POD X3 EQ vs Amp's EQ Not sure if this has been covered before - if so, I apologize.
In helping another TB'er work out some difficulties on his X3 Live setup, I mentioned something that has perplexed me for a while now. All of the bass amp models have a Bass, Lo-Mid, Hi-Mid, and Treble control. The problem is that the actual amps don't. A stellar example would be the 1968 Flip Top (Ampeg B-15n) model. The real amp has a bass and treble control while the model has the four mentioned controls. One side of me feels like, for that model, the bass and treble controls should work while the lo- and high-mids should not. On the other hand, maybe I should be...thankful...for the extra control? Also, what able the mid-switch on amps like the 1974 Rock 'n' Roll (Ampeg SVT)? I am guessing that a decision was made at Line6 as to which position the model was based on? Wouldn't it make more sense to use, for instance, the hi-mid knob to choose one of the available frequency ranges?
Just trying to get an idea of how to "expect" these controls to work - not dogging the product or anything. In fact, I've used it live, a lot, in the last year and find that it can be a really good tool.
