I've reviewed the Pod XT Live and the Constrictor already. What would you say is the very best quality compressor Line 6 has ever made, either in terms of sound quality or in terms of versatility? |

I love the LA-2A on bass, so I love the way the LowDown's works for me. the constrictor does that one as well.

a) unity is at, like, 2% of the level available. That's way too much.
b) gain knob?
c) peak reduction?
It would be awesome to offer the 1176LN with level, ratio, meter, attack, and release. This would allow for all-button mode. If it's too important for there to be input and output controls, you could combine the attack and release onto a single knob with pre-determined ranges, kind of like the 8 you have in the synth, (i.e., 1:1, 1:3, 1:5, 3:1). Oh, and what about, WITH the LA-2A to bring out the best of their abilities as a combo? Or is that just getting greedy?

My guess is they are preparing for something soon? Like you, I hope to hear their answer to this soon. As you know, I've been looking for a good compressor.
Right now, the "Tube Comp" acts simply as a tone enhancer for me. I don't treat it like a compressor because it doesn't have the limiting characteristics you and I hope for. What's interesting is the Tube Comp has more high-end clarity than the Red Comp (DynaComp), which seems strange since I'm used to hearing a good DynaComp have a nice clarity on top (which, as we know, comes at a price of losing some low end).

It's great to be able to layer on an exaggerated vintage fat tone, but sometimes a little more functionality is needed. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
