If you can solder, you can pretty easily make a tough, reliable 10k expression pedal yourself for little money (I did, with parts from small bear electronics).

Or, if you're simply looking to have 2 presets for each effect, without blending, you can wire a DPDT footswitch to sweitch between the 2. I used the footswitch from my GK MB2-500 (which wasn't any use with the amp). A little modding, and now I have a blendless expression pedal. I can open it up and put up a wiring diagram if anyone's interested.

well, right now i'm looking for one with a blend, but i think this is a very cool idea. but i can imagine finding a use for that switch down the road, so if it isn't too much work, it would be cool if you could put up the diagram... thanks!

For those too lazy to do the DIY for that, this guy makes a cool little switch that does the job (I have one of these, plus the expression pedal I built out of an old crybaby).

Prompted by another thread I've started - what would be REALLY great is to have the ability to mix in to the signal a dry bass tone at the output - with the additional ability to 'low pass' it, like a crossover. Nice bottom extention, but roll off the highs if necessary so that the effects can take over the top end.

How's about that?

I got more where that came from!

Post that here and we can think about it. I of course know exactly what you are asking for.

Power supply

Hi Rich... the included Power Supply is just 110/120v or 110/120v - 220/230v ??
Hopefully in a few weeks someone will bring me an M13 from USA (i´m in Argentina) and we´ve got 220v over here...
Does lthe original power supply work either with 110v and 220v or i´ll have to get the 220v version over here ?
tnx !

Alex

No, you will have to get the proper power supply. Most Line 6 dealers should have them to sell you.

"Still" waiting on os X Snow Leopard and Windows 7 drivers... it's gone beyond tolerable status...

These were not surprise updates from Apple or Microsoft.

hi guys,
I bought the M9 and it seems to be great unit. I wanted to buy the USB-Midi cable (this is very poor solution for such modern unit) but it got lost somewhere on the way to me, so I still dont have all of the possibilities and sounds that new firmware provides.

I am a bit curious about your synth and autowah settings or effects that you use for those disco synth sounds and autowah - if you think that your synth and wah sounds killer, post please your settings. thank you

If you mean to get your M9 hooked up to the computer, its gotta have a USB and two midi plugs. Upgrading is easy, and you definitely want to go 2.0. Get yourself a "M-Audio Midisport USB Uno" easy hookup for the computer - I upgraded in less than 10 minutes.

I haven't had five minutes to plug in for the past week, but this weekend, I intend on tackling wah settings and checking out the synths - I will post if I come up with anything worthwhile. So far, I've been having great success with the Chorus, Phaser and Tremolo patches, as well as the Bass Octaver.

I got the m-audio cable yesterday from a friend of mine so I will update it today.
I took it yesterday (with old firmware) to practice with my band and the chain was:
MIJ jazz bass - M9 - sonic stomp - SVT VR - SVT 8x10.

it seems that i am going to be very satisfied. chorus - no probs. phaser - no probs. boost comp - no probs. i have to work a bit on auto wahs and synths. but overall - great

Anybody know the footprint of the Line 6 EX-1 Expression Pedal (the actual physical dimensions)? THanks!

Just roughly I'd guesstimate about 4" x 9" x 1 3/4", based on memory from using mine last night.

Cool. Thanks. Too big for me. Will have to go with plan B: modding a DOD FX-17!

Thanks! I am looking to see if I can squeeze my M9, Octron and an Expression/Volume Pedal on a Pedal Train Mini. So the DOD is perfect at 3x5.

I think you'd be better of with the dod tbh, I'm selling my pedaltrain mini because it's too small for the two expression pedals I use with my m9, one of which is an EX-1.

EDIT: I've just measured this to be sure, and when you include the jack socket plugged into the ex-1, the end of the ex-1 overhangs the pt mini base by around 2''

Hmm. Not familiar with the DOD TBH - and it doesn't come up on any searches. The FX-17 is just a bit larger than 3"W X 5W. So far, it's the winner. Fits with space on the Mini.

Can you hit me up with a link for the DOD TBH?

Thanks. Gus
