Robert DeLeo

Hello, Line 6 guys.

We were discussing Robert DeLeo's rig over in the bassists section, and it seems to be a consensus that his tone rules. We know he's using a POD into power amps, and he claims to duplicate the sound of his studio set up (a mixture of Fender Bassman and Marshall amps) perfectly. Would you by chance have anymore insight on his setup?

two weeks and nothing but crickets from the line6 team.

STP-lovin' bass player public relations FAIL.

Well, I give them the benefit of the doubt; I'm sure they're busy with the business, and it's not like they're paid to post here. Also, it's possible that they have no further info beyond what we already know.

seems that they don't pay much attention and don't care much to TB as others company's,
maybe if it was a guitar forum...

Hey Guys -- sorry for the delay. In fact, we're as interested in the answer to this question as you are.

I'm reaching out to our AR folks to see what we can find out about Robert's rig and settings.

Thanks,
Aaron

Hey, that is very funny. We love you guys. Aaron and I are bass players. I have been so busy getting the new JTVs out to the market. Been buried really.

But, I am going to contact his tech. What do you guys want to know?

Current live rig Shure ULXP4 Wireless, Line 6 Bass PODxt Pro, QSC PLX1602 power amp, two Ampeg SVT-810E 8x10 cabinets “I worked with the EQ on the Bass POD and matched my Marshall/Bassman sound perfectly." They are a blending of clean and dirty.

That is basically it. STP is my favorite band of all time followed by Zep. I have seen them 5 or 6 times and I must say, he has never sounded better live. I was actually floored. I am personally not a big fan of Bass POD. I love my LowDowns.

Awesome! I'm mostly interested in what model he's using as his starting point. I know a lot goes into it beyond what we can cop with just the gear, but a starting point would be excellent.

Thanks again!

Don't be too hard on these guys. Line6 is still a really small company, and they wear a lot of hats. I've seen Rich at work, though I don't know Aaron. He's a good guy, seems to genuinely care, and a bassist. How bad could that be? Rich, you still have that Burgundy Mist Tyler 5 hanging around?

How about just getting ahold of some of his patches? Seems like it could be arranged easily enough?
