| | | | The waiting is the hardest part.... I finally found a used m9 at a decent price! It's in the mail right now, should be here tomorrow or early next week! I can't wait to start setting up my scenes, the guitar player in my band got one a few months ago and after playing with it for 10 minutes I was uber jealous.
I've just got 2 questions for the experienced users here.
1) how does the tron sound on bass? I heard it could be a little tone sucking.
2) I also heard the exp pedal saving can be a little wonky. the m9 will be on a pedal board and the exp pedal won't be getting plugged in and out. the only thing I can see myself using the expersion pedal is for wah wah and maybe tremelo and delay rates. But still I'd like to be able to count on it at gigs.
thanks!

thanks! | More guys can jump in. I love Tron up. I get very close to the vibe of my QTron. I don't feel the tone suck myself.
The exp pedal should be fine. Especially if you are not plugging and unplugging it. Let me know if that is not the case.

| | | Hey Rich thanks for the response. The expression pedal will be plugged in once and then just sit on my board, so it's good to know that won't be a problem as I love using the expression pedal to control delay feedback or tremolo speed.
I haven't found any clips online of the bass using the tron settings, but I can't see why it would be a tone sucker, just what I've heard about the pedal. worst case scenario I've got a Sansamp programmable DI at the end of the chain I can use to boost the signal back up.
Now if this Canada Post strike would end so I could play wiht my damn pedal!!!

The Tron up has a LP setting so you don't lose as much low end as the BP setting.

The Tron up doesn't quite have the same range as a Qtron does, though. My experience with a Qtron is that it will start way down low and fat and go all the way up thin and quacky if you set and play it right. IME the Tron up will give you fat or quacky, but not both at the same time unless you use some expression settings at the same time as you play.
I do believe there are a lot of people who lose out on a lot of the capabilities of this unit because they wont turn their bass down or insert a pedal that will drop the volume heading into it. |

| | | | Yes I finally got it and I love it. I notice a bit of drop when i use the tron, but I pair it with the blue comp to make up for it and it sounds tits mcgee!
I've been playing "Sir Psycho Sexy" by the red hot chili peppers everyday when I get home from work with the tron. lol
I've got all my scenes set up for the different bands I play in and I will be using it at it's first gig this weekend. Likes
The Bass octaver delivers rumbling low end and really sounds great. I also love having a looper and am slowly figuring out how to work it into songs I'm writting.
All the modulation sounds great on bass, and the most surprising thing is how well these distortions and fuzzes sound on the bass. I didn't expect that. Dislikes
Now I haven't read the entire manual yet, so there is probably a solution to these problems.... But I don't like how if I want to turn two effects on or off at the same time, the tuner(or setup) comes up, so instead I have to quickly turn them on/off individually.
Second when I loop with effects on, then go back to lay down a bassline with no effects, I lose the effects on the original loop.
again I've only had it for a week and haven't read the whole manual yet so there's probably a way around these problems.
Overall I'm loving the pedal and will get a lot of use out of it. 9/10 Line 6.

There is a preference in the menu to have the effects pre or post. On M13 you can switch this on the fly with a switch but for M9 we had to make it a preference.
Glad you are digging it and thank you for the report.
I think it is fun that you boost to get what you need from the Tron and cheapbasslovin is suggesting to turn your bass down a bit and not hit it so hard.

| | | | I just read about the pre/post thing in the manual, thanks Rich!
And I've rearranged my scenes so that anytime I have to hit two effects at once, they are in the bottom row.
thanks for the tips and advice!
