Around 20 years ago when I went to go buy a muTron III the salesman pointed out the fx25 and I could've bought either and I liked the fx25 the fx25b doesn't hold a candle to it. It's like the difference between Bootsy Collins and the Brady Bunch.
The fx25's are rad I've had many and they all sound different and they all fail.
This is my second 545a and the extra headroom means I can hit it hot.
I'm sorry I totally didn't finish that sentence. (Emoticons....)
When I would get on an fx25 kick I would buy 3-4 and then sell off all but one or two and get a few more.
I liked the oldest big knob ones for the totally closed deep dub Laswell thing
And the Kermit ones for Sir Psycho sexiness
BUT two or three times I would then have issues that weren't easy fixes and I guess that's to wide of a brush to say they ALL fail it's like ex-girlfriends that you were reeeeeaaallllyyy into that dumped you. So yeah fx25 solid investment
If you have an fx25b and haven't tried a 25 do it DO IT!!!
If you want some tip top shelf stuff here it is as well.
