Frantone Lo-Tone Classic Fuzz pedal. Sick bass fuzz!

Great bass fuzz that goes from slight to raging. Frantone is no longer making pedals and this was one of the first hand-made bass specific fuzz pedals out there that got a great reputation. Germanium transistors! Price New: $330

PRICE: $139.99 SHIPPED in the USA

Any idea what the circuit is based on? No soundclips anywhere for this one....at least that I can find.

I do not know exactly, but the sound is similar to a Tonebender to me. I've owned a reissued Tonebender and they are in the "same family" sound wise. Frantone was an earlier boutique hand-made pedal company around the time when Analogman and ZVex were some of the only big players on the boutique side.

What I loved about this pedal is the amount of low end retention. Tons! Sounds like my natural bass sound but with fuzz. This is a classic sounding fuzz but without the low end loss familiar to the original 60's and 70's classics.

Great Fuzz - AMAZING Price

I acutally have one of these that I don't use at the moment but won't let go of because I like it a lot.

It's great for that classic fuzz sound. Think jack casady, when he blends the fuzzed out amp with a clean amp. Not that there is a blend but it's reminiscent of that sound he used to get with that technique. It has really solid bottom (most Frantone does) IMO. The only reason I do not have it on my rig is because it can get lost in the band mix of my current project. For the right gig/project, this is a great fuzz and this is an AMAZINGLY LOW price. If you're even curious, I'd snatch it up. They went for $340 new and Fran is no longer in business so it's now "vintage". Hope that's somewhat helpful.

FYI- there used to be a demo online but it looks like someone took it down. Sorry, I tried to dig it up for you.

Agree with above. I also have one, and old mint green one. Just a great fuzz for that really pillowy sizties fuzz. Reminds me of Beatles Revolution fuzz. Great pedal, great price.
