to answer a few questions:
The toggle switch lets you change between a few diode settings and changes how the clipping sounds- standard silicon,no diodes, or led.

The foot switch to the right is the on/off switch
The foot switch to the left is a momentary switch. This reacts with where you have the feedback knob(upper right knob) set.
