Roland GR-20 with BASS PICKUP

Roland GR-20 guitar synth unit with GK-3B BASS pickup. Tons of cool synth sounds! Bought new in 2010 and used sparingly at home. Gigged once in 2010. Will fit all 4-, 5- and 6-string basses, although please note that I would not recommend installing on a bass that you're not willing to deface a bit. I chose to screw it directly into the body of my jazz bass, which worked great. The adhesive option was not very effective. Anything with an archtop would also be tricky. Original box contains GR-20, GK-3B bass pickup, 13-pin cable, tools and screws for installation, manuals for GR-20 and GK-3B, power supply.

I can tell you from my experience with these that they track very well as long as you do the setup correctly. I used one for years with minimal issues of any kind! Great deal here!

As swpyne says, the setup makes a HUGE difference. Because the pickup goes right up by the bridge, you can get it within 1-2mm of your strings without causing problems.

That said, the tracking isn't 100% in lower registers when you're playing fast/articulate lines. What I did to compensate for this was to create custom patches on the GR-20 for any fast lines in a lower register. These patches would pitch down by an octave so that I could play the lines in a higher register on the bass to ensure tracking was solid, but the synth sound was still in the lower octave.
