Yamaha G50 Midi Converter (13-pin, Roland/Axon/etc. standard)

Yamaha G-50 Guitar-to-MIDI converter!

Got a Midi pickup from Roland, Yamaha, or Axon, with 13-pin output? Got a guitar or bass with 13-pin output, like a Godin, Brian Moore or Roland-ready Strat? The G50 will take your bass or guitar notes/chords separately from each string and convert them to MIDI signals, so you can play a synthesizer with your guitar (or bass - which is what I did!)

This unit does NOT contain any sounds; you use a standard MIDI cable to connect it to a separate synth module of your choice (or a MIDI interface to trigger sounds/samples on your computer.) Works great, tracks very well - I used it personally for several years with a bass guitar (with the bass pickup on it).
$200 includes shipment to the continental USA, PayPal or money order accepted.

It uses the same spec as the Roland and Axon modules, and can be used with their pickups as well as guitars that have 13-pin-to-MIDI outputs like Godin and Brian Moore iGuitars. The pickups that you can use with it would include:
Roland GK2A, GK3, GK2B (bass), GK3B (bass), etc.
Yamaha G1D (Guitar) B1D (Bass)
Axon AX103, AIX103, et al
Graph Tech GHOST system (install) or Hexpander Kit (install)

And Guitars that are ready out-of-the-box:
Fender Roland-Ready Strat
Godin guitar and bass models with "/SA" designation (Synth Access)
Brian Moore Guitars with "i" designation
Parker Fly MIDI models
MIDI-equipped Warr Guitars, Chapman Sticks, etc.

Hear/watch it being used on bass (with an Axon pickup) here:

The low, chordal pads at around 1:00 are me playing synth bass using this module.

The "french horn" melody at around 4:20 is me playing synth bass (though the sound I'm using at the time kind of sucks; I later upgraded to a better sound module.)

70% of tone is in your fingers. The other 30% is in your other fingers.

I do also have a "Bass sound module" for sale in the "Other" section which works great with this unit.

I will combine and reduce if you want to buy this together with the Peavey DPM Bass Sound Module I also have listed; makes a nice combo for those wishing to do synth-bass on a real slab bass.
