Anthony Jackson's effects ???

Hi,

I'm wondering if you or anybody you might know of, knows which effect/ s that Anthony Jackson uses on Chaka Khan's Naughty album . He uses it on the whole album but it is particularly strong on the breaks of the first song "Clouds " . He uses it on the Steve Khan album, Public Access, on the first song Sise . If you need me to I can probably find other examples , it shows up on alot of his work , I could also provide more specific info on exactly when the sound I'm talking about occurs ( ie, measure numbers or the time in the piece ).

Anthony makes tremendous use of his flanger. All the Eyewitness stuff is laden at various points with this great color, set with a wide, slow flange, which he uses in a seemingly "orchestral" way, as punctuation and to delineate sections. It's been a part of his trademark sound for decades.

I know he used the old TC Electronics chorus/flanger stomp box for a while.

i have been listening to that album a lot great playing i'm pretty sure it's a phaser i have an issue of bassplayer where he says exactly what it is. i am how ever in boston right now 6 hours from the mag. if you pm as a reminder i will look it up for you when i get home wednesday.

Def a flanger. I think the original effect back in the day was a modified phaser.
