Adam, welcome to TB. I was at a bass clinic you did a couple of years ago at BassClubChicago and I must tell you that my mind was totally blown by both your playing and the information you shared regarding Modal and Scale approaches to soloing. When it comes to keeping the pocket and providing a solid foundation I think I do a pretty decent job however soloing has always been my weakest point as I was always stuck on playing against the root. In other words my vocabulary was very limited and at best elementary. Well I've been trying to put into practice what you've been teaching with regards to Chordal Improv, using modes and intervals and playing sequences and I think I'm starting to get it "slowly", LOL. Well last evening when we finished our worship set during our Wednesday night church service I got a text message from the pastor that read "Very nice bass work". Boy was that a nice compliment from a man who's very gifted in his own right.

Thanks again, gotta get back to practicing.
