Keeping fingers from getting tacky when playing outdoors?

Can you share any tips on how to keep plucking fingers from getting tacky when playing outdoors? When my fingers get tacky, playing gets uncomfortable. Thanks!

Yes, when my fingers sweat they just dont feel comfortable when playing fingerstyle. Someone on the forum suggested alcohol pads, which Im going to try. Do you have any other tips?

Thanks!

Playing outside on hot humid days with round wounds is a challenge.
My fingers seem to stick like glue.
I have used Finger Ease spray for many years, works for me.

Believe it or not, I have tried baby powder and it gummed up some on my finger tips. Think I will try alcohol wipes or the finger ease spray.

Thanks for the tips!

This may sound a little gross but you can always rub the side of your nose. Skin oil. Don't get much "greener" than that. That's what I do when I get "tacky".

I use this method too, except forehead oil, up near the hairline.

ffever, my suggestion would have been the talcum powder. i'm one of those players who's hands don't really sweat when i play for some reason. strings last me a long time, generally-speaking. although talcum powder would work to try and reduce the moisture, if you are experiencing 'tackiness' then mrlenny's finger ease suggestion might do the trick. it would essentially lubricate the strings more effectively for you. the only other thing i can think of would be to wear sweat bands on your wrists... sorry i don't have more to offer on this one.... hope that helps!
