| hi there!
thank you very much for the kind words. i'm very happy that you are enjoying 'liminal.'
for the majority of the tunes, the basic tracks were recorded live. in order to work with some of the 'out of town-ers' featured, we incorporated remote recording sessions, in which they were sent either guide tracks or tracks already completed. they recorded their parts in their own studios. some of the overdubs were done in other studios, as well, so being able to transport tracks back and forth made this process much easier. for my charts, most of them were combinations of changes and notated parts. if there were specific things i wanted played, they were always notated. basically they were glorified lead sheets, but in most cases with much more specific detail with respect to rhythms, etc. i went to a studio called 'the carport' in nashville to mix. russ long was the mixing engineer. mastering was done at 'yes master' in nashville, by an engineer named alex mccullough. i did produce the entire record.
hope that helps to answer your questions,
