Question About J-bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm currently thinking about buying a J bass
Would you reccomend Sadowsky Metro 4 string or Mike Lull M4V
I really want a J-bass that cut through any mix with great playability.
Actually I want the Lull 4 string with 24 fret like your fivewise
but it beyond my budget.

Thanks in advance for the information

hi 9_am-

honestly, i don't think you could go wrong with either of those basses. they are both great instruments. both of those are going to sit in a similar tonal space in the mix... however, if you are looking for a J style instrument that cuts through and has a slightly 'pointier' sound, then the mike lull 'modern' series is really nice, because the pickup placement is slightly different and contributes to more of a midrange growl and cut... i know you said it's outside your budget, but if you could find a used one that might be a good solution for you.

I' m in the situation. I' m deciding between a Metro, Lull, Fender Deluxe or an Alleva.

I' m looking for a Fender type of bass on 'steroids'. So far I' m liking the Fender Deluxe and the Metro.

Check out G&L JB (AKA JB-1) too. I played one recently and it was the best Jazz I had ever put my hands on, (dont worry, ts in layaway) for a fraction of the price of those others.

Would you say they're better than Sadowsky?
