I've discovered this by accident and it reminded me of so many guys regularly asking for it on this forum: http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyl...etboard-Basics.

I hope that it will be of help to someone else - it was to me!

I just bought that book. It's awesome. I learned on 5 string, so playing 2 octave scales is a given, but when I started on 4 string, I was like, how the hell do you get around on this thing? So I looked around and found this one by accident.

One of the best in explaining various ways of getting around the fretboard. In my humble opinion.

Once again, doing the "boxes" method Pacman talks about here (Pacman's sure-fire scale practice method) will help with this immensely. Mastering that you can start any scale on any point of the scale on any string and go up and down across the whole fingerboard. You learn, almost as a side effect, all the modes, too.

Breaking out of one box into another seamlessly is another leap I'm just now starting to make, but that is opening up a lot of possibilities, too.
