Saveral ways of doing this - here is one way.

Basic C Major Scale Form
Scale functions indicated
|--2--|-----|--3--|--4--| -1st string
|--6--|-----|--7--|--1--|
|--3--|--4--|-----|--5--|
|-----|--1--|-----|--2--| -4th string

First position - root 1 on E string 8th frt
Second position - root 1 on the A string 3rd fret.
Third position - root 1 on the A string 15th fret..

Is that what you were looking for?

Don't know if you're asking about using the same pattern from 3 different "A" notes on the fretboard, as Malcolm pointed out.

Or if you want to know 3 different fingerings of the major scale, in this case C Major.

One position would be to start on the root with your forefinger (finger 1).

BC
FGA
CDE

A 2nd position would be to start on the root with your middle finger (finger 2). I don't know if this is the primary pattern, but it's the pattern I was first taught. It's the pattern Malcom posted.

ABC
EFG
-CD

A 3rd position would be to start on the root with your pinky (finger 4).

C
GAB
DEF
--C

There are more than 3 position for a Major Sclae, just think all the note of the scale and how many start point you have on all the fingerboard, you'll be impressed how many solutions you have!

The reasonable assumption is that the goal is to play each complete C major scale without shifting left hand positions. Typically you do that starting from the roots on the E string 8th fret, A string 3rd and 15th fret.

With 22 frets you can do the second octave higher on the E, and with additional strings some other options exist.
