Oe, noe!

So, I have this cut on my indexfingers' tip. Not a disastrous endoftheworld thing, just a minor nuisance. I have no gigs lined up or anything, and it'll probably be gone by tomorrow or the day after.

Still. What do you people do when you'd happen to cut your finger minutes before a gig? Besides play with a pick?

Superglue maybe? Any other thoughts?

I did this a day before a gig, index finger on my right hand, with a very sharp knife. No chance for healing. I used 'liquid' bandage, superglue, and a bandaid. Thought it would work well, seemed very tight. The bandaid came off about halfway through the second tune of the night, bled all over the strings, made quite a mess. It finally stopped bleeding after about 30 minutes, but the finger throbbed for the next 24-36 hours. Super glue didn't work for me...

Just let it heal. If you don't have to play, don't. IMO, IME, YMMV, etc...

I broke my ring and pinky finger minutes before I had to play drums in a death metal band. I played for about 35 drunken minutes before passing out from the pain...... mid song.

That would be the rational thing to do yeah. So naturally I'm playing right now.

(pickstyle, though)

I had a teeny little metal sliver in my left index finger before I played 3 services in church. I don't know where I picked it up, and I couldn't see it to dig it out. It was annoying as hell!

Cut my middle finger to the bone with a box cutter, left hand.
Twenty some stitches and a job two days away.
What to do
Played the job, did not use that finger, dumbed it down a bit.
No problem.
Bass players are resourceful, I am sure most of you have had some sort of problem to play through.

About two months ago I cut the tip of my index finger on my fretting hand with a pair of poultry scissors. The finger was unusable. I managed with my other fingers but it was quite the challenge. There were some sloppy playing at certain times.
