Question Any place to find drum tracks to play to?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,
I've been really enjoying playing to a few youtube videos (eg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxuvw...eature=related) but are there any sources for just drum, and variety? Does somebody sell or offer this sort of thing? Would love anyone's insight. Thanks!

There are some recordings of just drums that are available for sale. I think there's a set called "CD metronome". But honestly, I think your money would be better spent on a drum machine, so you can program your own grooves and set any temp you want. There are even some free downloadable virtual drum machines that are decent.

I've responded to a couple of these posts awhile back. I'm not affiliated with him, but Ryan Gruss has some great drum tracks that are free. See this thread:

Online Drum Beats?

He also updates regularly and has some very reasonable prices for drum packs and subscriptions.

I didn't verify this, so I hope it still works. Try www.fivefeathers.com

I have around 5 backing track CDs for blues lead guitar by that company. Really tight little rhythm section of drums, bass, and guitar to play over in various keys, tempos and synchopations. I think they produce the same kind of thing for bass players (sans bass) in various styles of music.

You could also try the Korg PX5D, apparently it has like 128 drum loops. I'm thinking about picking one up to practice with.

I recommend Riffworks T4, the free version has a few demo drum tracks and you can buy new ones (without upgrading to the full version) for about $10 each. I bought a few last week and have been happy with them so far.

I use a Line6 Pod UX1, so the analog out from it will also push the drum tracks and your own bass through it.
