Are they any good? I'm looking for something I can practice improv parts and scale inversions over. Anybody have an opinion on these? Other suggestions?

I've used several similar ones -- the jazz and rock versions. I found them to be okay and useful as a diversion from playing with a drum machine or along with regular recordings.

That's kinda what I'm looking for. I'm just a n00b, but I don't want to learn other peoples' stuff note for note necessarily, I want something that forces me to think of my own parts and play with intervals and such.
