Just got an iPhone. Have any of you tried any of the bass training apps? I dont want to bother if they are worthless, but it seems like it might be a good way to study theory on the fly. Thoughts?

"Nota" is a good app for training for the musical theorys, i think the best way is your bass, a pencil, a paper and a good theory book

I use Guitar Tool Kit and Music Theory Pro. In Guitar tool Kit you can select the bass guitar use the tuner, metronome, look at chords and scales (for both guitar and Bass). Music Theory Pro has helped me improve my sight reading skills. It has note trainer, interval trainer, key signature trainer etc...

Yeah, If I could fit my bass, a book, etc.in my pocket then I definately wouldn't need an app.

"Bass Clef" is a great tool to help you learn to read standard notation.

''Ear Trainer'' works pretty well, sorry if its not really theory oriented.
I play a few minutes each day and I improved a lot over the last months.

Music Theory Pro +1
It is nice for learning to read notes and it provides the tone to hear as well which most do not do.

+1 on this one -- feature list from developer's site

I particularly like the ability to tap the tempo you want and the ability to build set lists so that you can set the tempo by song name.
