I am extremely new to playing a bass guitar and haven't seriously picked up an instrument in 20 years and wanted to say thank-you to all the advice given to guys like me. You all are making it a bit easier for me to learn.

Thanks for the thanks. I hope this will give you heart. I was nearly 49 before I ever picked up a music instrument. It was a real challenge starting so late, but I wouldn't trade the experiences I have had as a result for anything.
