awkward tempos?

I recently did a recording session with a guitarist friend of mine, just making a demo CD of our jazz stuff.

I was playing a walking bass line to C'est si bon, and we decided to use a click at 120bpm.

I've been playing for about 7 years, and never had any problems with timing. This session I just couldn't seem to keep it even. I found it easy at 130 and 110, so it had to just be that tempo, but I have no idea why. I spent over an hour practicing it at home and now can hold it down better, although it still doesn't feel as comfortable as I'd like.

Does anyone else ever have this problem? Are some tempos just easier to feel than others?

maybe the part you were trying to play was in an odd time signature and it made it hard to keep time.
