Backing Tracks

Rock n roll,

I haven't posted on here for a while so thought I would drop by and say hello.

For anyone who hasn't seen previous threads, my name is Nick and I have a website that is FREE - that you can download backing tracks/jam tracks from.

As I am a bass player there are tracks on there not only for guitar/lead instruments - but I drop the bass out of the tracks so us bass players have something to practice with as well.

The site is here: FreeJamTracks.com and you can start downloading/check out the backing tracks for bass players here:
FreeJamTracks.com/Play-Bass-Blues-02.html

There are 7 different styles and about 60+ backing tracks with no bass on them. As I said - they are all free to download so go nuts.

I have also been writing a lot of articles on music and posting them up on Music articles by NickOnBass posted on EzineArticles.com.

When I was growing up playing I used to read modern drummer, guitar player and bass player magazine columns religiously - so they are kind of in that vein. Well I'm trying my best with the writing anyway but have got good feedback so far, and like with playing, working on improving each day.

Links to the articles are also posted on my site which can be found here: FreeJamTracks.com/Music-Concepts.html

There is some theory on there but lots of stuff about things like practice and motivation and general ideas, concepts etc etc.

I will put up some articles on Walking bass soon too.

I was doing a website just for bass players called: Bass Blues/Blues Bass with a series of lessons and tracks for bass players but have been a bit slack adding content to the site. The site is here: BassBlues.com - but what I'm going to do very soon (start this weekend) is move it over to Free Jam Tracks - I think that will help me make sure I finish off the walking bass lessons that I started cause I work more on the jam tracks site than anywhere else.

Anyways - sorry for the long post, just trying to give everyone a catch up on what I've been up to and say hi to the people I usually talk to when I am on here.

I am genuinely doing this stuff for music's sake - like people who are on this forum all the time and helping out younger and new players, it's a good thing to try and pass on what you know, in whatever capacity you can.

So I hope you get something out of the stuff I've posted and if you want you can leave feedback for me, I do read it and take note of what people say, regardless of if it's positive or negative, I'd be grateful for any comments as they will help me improve the site and that is good, not for me so much, but for other musicians who use the tracks.

Anyway - blah blah blah blah blah blah blah - as always.

Jam on!

ok - I've started the 'move'!

Moving everything from here: www.BassBlues.com

To here: www.FreeJamTracks.com/Bass-Guitar-Lessons.html

I'll probably move over at least 1 lesson each day and edit/update them as I go. Once the stuff that is from BassBlues is all moved over there are about 9 lessons with mp3 examples on Walking Bass that I have to write/put up so I'll get onto that.

Jam on!

Nick, thanks a bunch for the backing tracks. It's definitely helped me progress my bass playing.

Thanks so much for this site. I have really struggled with understanding blues progession and theory in general. After lesson 5...things are starting to make sense. At least I think they are.

Thanks again!
