OK so playing notes down the neck aren't that bad and obviously the only remedy is to practice scales and such but is there any sweet methods that you use to practice going down the neck?

practice playing scales along a single string only

proper technique helps a lot.

i was taught one finger per fret and while descending on one string keep that hand position of one finger per fret and use your elbow to move down the fretboard.
