Bass Courses in NYC

Dear all,

I am currently looking into the possibility of enrolling on a course along the lines of those offered at places such as:

The Brighton Institute of Modern Music -

http://www.bimm.co.uk/brighton-bass-music-courses.asp

Guitar-X -

http://www.guitar-x.co.uk/ThreeYearBass.html

The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance -

http://www.icmp.uk.com/courses/bass/...ss-degree.aspx

However, I would be interested in doing so in New York City (or the US generally) if possible, as I fancy a bit of an adventure in the process! I am currently interested in either a one year diploma-style course, or a full degree, but so far my searches on the internet haven’t yielded anything much by way of results! Do any of you guys know of similar courses or institutes which offer this kind of program over there?

Cheers very much for any help you guys can provide!

Tristan

There are a lot here, but thats the first to come to mind. SUNY Purchase in Westchester has a program, Wm Patterson College in NJ has a program, I think John Patitucci runs the program at CUNY now...

Go for the collective. John Castellano is the man and the staff is second to none. If you want to learn how to REALLY play, then that's the school. I went there and it was awesome.
