Bass Guitar For Dummies (book w/cd)

I just picked up a copy of this and it`s VERY good! Of course it is no substitute for an actual instructor but for any of us learning on our own...this book is worth buying!

I`ve just scimmmed it but already learned a lot.Learned about harmonics and some cool tuning stuff(how to tune using the 5th or 7th fret method)and just some great basics.

I bought my copy on ebay for the mere sum of one dollar. Not a schill or spammer so I won`t mention any sellers but you can do a search.I`m very impressed by this book and I think I will actually use it to help my learning/playing.

Just my $0.02 worth here!

I agree. It is a great book for someone who is starting out from absolute zero. While it does not dwell long on any particular thing, it gives the beginner a good all round coaching on the bass, and a good foundation on which to build. It can act as a reference book too.

I have found http://www.studybass.com/sitemap/ to also be something you can rely upon.

Good luck.

Yes,studybass is incredible!

I like the BGfD because it lets me find basics of scales, fretboard geography and other things fast and easy. For me that is a god send!
