Hey guys -

I've just posted the new Brit Funk style file track on my site.

http://davemarks.com/?page_id=1012

There's an mp3 player, links to download it and a transcription of the bass solo.

Video lessons to follow on Youtube next week :-)

Let me know what you guys think of the track.

Next month: Hip Hop!

Very nice playing. I dig. You played it very safe though. Would have like to hear you stretch just a tad bit more especially in the solo section. I like the tune but I think if you speed up the tempo (Incognito/Jamiroqui speed), it'd be killer!

I was kinda pitching it between JTQ's starsky and hutch, Jamiroquai's space cowboy and a brand new heavies tune.... the name of which escapes me. (ugh - where is my brain today!!?!)

I play it safe on these tracks to make them accessible as a learning tool for other players...

maybe I should make a Youtube vid of me playing over it where I stretch out a bit more... the solo (which is mostly a groove thing) is indicative of the acid jazz style... not really packed with burning solos, as such :-)

I'm really keen to hear some other players and see what they do with it... Youtube beckons if any of you are up for it :-) - free set of strings for the best performance of the month...
