Bass Repertoire? Urgent help!

Do any of you know of any web-sites containing information on bass-line structures and how they differ from other bass-lines in other genres? I need a site explaining clearly what goes into adapting the bass guitar to a specified genre and how they differ from other chosen styles, such as: blues, gospel, jazz, rock, soul, pop, etc. Please help me!!

You don't state why you need this info so urgently. At the risk of sounding snotty, here is my advice.

You will get a lot more from listening to said styles and determining for yourself what these styles share and how they differ. You could easily Google some examples of these styles and listen to them. I think it would be harder to Google something like "Style differences" and come up with someone else's work or words.

Just do the required research. Good luck.

i honestly dont think you will find what your looking for...you might find something close in like bass guitar for dummies or something, which might give examples of common basslines from that genre...but as far as adapting the bass guitar to that genre, just play whatever sounds good. i dont think any musician has ever sat out saying...okay, im gonna play JAZZ, or, i am going to be the best damn gospel musician ever. i think your much better off learning the theory and just playing what you want to play...you will be more successful and have a much better time if you play what you invision in your head, and not what other people invision when you tell them that you are a blues bassist.
