Please answer these questions, im trying to learn sheet music.

1) How do you know what octave to play?
2) there are two notes with the same name per string (ex: 1st fret F and 13th fret F) they both have octaves so how do you know which on to play?
3)where are the notes on the sheet music staff "lines"?
4)And could someone please put a link for a free, one-page sheet music peice for a beginner?

each line or space represents only one pitch, notes an octave up or down would be on a different line or space...fret 1 and fret 13 on the E string in standard tuning would be represented by the space below the bass clef, and the line second from the top of the bass clef respectively...... the bass staff lines are G B D F A,spaces are A C E G......pm me an e mail and i'll send you some

Studybass has a simple chart that associates the score & the fretboard...http://www.studybass.com/lessons/rea...-fretboard.pdf (if the direct link doesn't work, use http://www.studybass.com/lessons/rea...retboard-notes, the pdf is available from the first link in the text.)

you can find simple reading exercises at sibelius...http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/index.p...scoreID=134919 for example. You need to install the plugin to use it.
